When I first laid my eyes on the Splif Stik I thought “Hey! These look very nice in their various shiny colours and presentation boxes but isn’t this just a needless executive cigarette holder? Can this tube really enhance the smoking experience I already enjoy?” and the simple answer is “Hey shut up! It’s great!”.

Each model comes with two reusable metal roaches for making a couple of fatties using your own choice of tobacco mix (probably so you can make one while you smoke one). The metal roaches have been designed to fit perfectly (and the colour matches the holder) but it’s not necessary to use them if you prefer to tear small squares of card from cereal boxes or whatever. Just ensure that the roach end of your smoke fits snugly into the Splif Stik and doesn’t sag like a limp fish.

The inside workings of this tool I observed are remniscent of the deluxe pipes available from Red Eye. Like with the Bul-it and the Amazed, there is a precise engineered labyrinth of grooves on the element that lies within. This forces all air flow to pass through a long track of thin tubing which filters and cools all smoke you draw. Being made of simple elements (like the deluxe pipes are) the Splif Stik is super easy to keep clean and while you’re cleaning you can examine how much filth was actually filtered. Filth!

The initial feeling I had when holding the Splif Stik was that “Hey! This thing’s a bit weighty! It looks nice, I feel a bit posh!” and found that the first drag was cooled so much that I didn’t think I was getting anything through. The proof is in the smoke you exhale and you may be surprised to see how much you did actually draw. After a short while I found that just holding the thing was comforting, it has a very pleasant weight and the smoke coming through was most enjoyable. I also found that unlike standard smokes which get hot and dregsome towards the end, the Splif Stik allows you to smoke it right down to the brass tacks without insulting your lungs. You may find that you can now comfortably consume more smoke than normal, which means you may experience the effects of your chosen herb with greater ease.

The end result of this product for me is certainly positive, I didn’t think something this simple and tube looking could find a place in my smoking requirements but I’m prepared to say that I rate the Splif Stik very highly and shall be using it regularly. Even though it looks cool, it does more than make you look fancy- It’s a pleasure to hold and improves the quality of smoke you impliment it with. Perfect! A masterwork of engineered craft.
