There are 4 bits to the Grinder. The top 2 pieces is what makes the grinding section, this then filters to the next layer which has gauze in it which then filters it more, finishing in the catching tray. In the catching tray you will be able to collect any residue from the herbs you are grinding. To help you collect all the residue it comes with a scraper too.
