Tips for Maintaining a Clean Bong

Bongs come in many different shapes and designs, which can make it difficult to clean, particularly the inside of the bong. But leaving it unclean may result in an unpleasant look and a bad smell that spoils the taste and smoking experience.

Here are some tips on cleaning your bong:

1. Remove the water from the bong directly into the toilet bowl; bong water contains a lot of resin and has an unpleasant odour.

2. Fill the bong with hot water and put your hand on top of the bong to seal the opening. Hold the bong at a horizontal level and then shake it briskly in a reverse action. Empty the water from the bong into the toilet bowl and flush at once.

3. Refill with a small amount of rubbing alcohol, directly into the base of the bong.

4. Add a few tablespoons of salt (sea salt) or rice; it will scrape the inner sides of the bong while the alcohol cleans down the residue of the resin.

5. Cover the top opening of the bong with your hand and start shaking it vigorously in a horizontal position, turning it over and around roughly. Be sure to reach all the interior surfaces of the bong and then flush it again into the toilet bowl.

6. Replenish the bong with clean hot water and shake it to and fro. You can now pour the water into the sink because all the residues are gone through the previous process conducted.

7. Spray the bong internally and externally with an all-purpose cleaner flavoured with lemon or lime. Rinse it with clean water and let it dry in an upside down position.
